Vietnamobile Mandates Whitelisting for SMS Links Sent Using Local Sender IDs

Vietnamese operator Vietnamobile (Hanoi Telecom) has introduced a new regulatory rule. Starting September 1, 2026, all URL links included in SMS messages sent using local Sender IDs must be registered on the whitelist. Messages containing unregistered links will fail to be delivered.

For existing brand customers currently using local Sender IDs with URLs in their SMS content, Telesign will proactively review and register the relevant links in advance to minimize the risk of disruptions to message delivery. Enterprise customers with questions or those needing assistance with the registration process can contact their Customer Success Manager for support.

The new regulation further tightens content controls over A2P SMS in Vietnam. When connecting to Vietnamobile routes, overseas enterprises must not only register their Sender IDs but also pre-whitelist links within SMS messages. URLs that have not been reported and registered in advance will directly cause message delivery failures. Enterprises should review all links contained in their business SMS messages and complete registration early to prevent delivery failures for service notifications and OTP messages.
